A mother is life.
Our first cries find her eyes and
she smiles. She mends our hurts, sings us to sleep, is always there
as protection from the night.
Mothers can't die, but of course
they do...
In February, 1999, Shirley Kessler died of cancer. During her hospitalization, her four children comforted her with song. It was now the children's time to sing their mother to sleep.
Their songs, inspired by their mother during her life and after her death, form this album. Through the beautiful voice of Lisa Yves, we hear it in Sweet Symphony, the sounds of memory that make mothers eternal in the hearts of their children. In the end, this album is about joy. It offers undeniable proof that spirits never die, but live on to influence who we are. Sweet Symphony isn't just for those who have lost a mother. It is songs for anyone who has loved.

ICARUS,
In Memorium is a tribute to the late John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife, Carolyn
Bessette Kennedy, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, who died in a tragic
plane crash off the coast of Martha's Vineyard.
All profits from the sale of this single are going to be donated to the causes John supported and which the Kennedy family have designated for contribution in his memory. Those charities are Reaching Up and the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.
"I was touched by the mourning of our country over such a loss. Even though I didn't know John, I felt like I did. I would see him sometimes riding his bike near New York University when I was living in the dorms." Said Lisa when asked why she chose to do this project. "I wanted to create a great song that would capture the mood of what many people were feeling."
